TRANSVERSAL AESTHETICS
ART FOR SOUL
A new type of aesthetics has emerged. It is based on the fact that the digitization of our visible world by
- computers
- video / TV
- internet
- smart phones, etc.
is increasingly modifying the neurophysiological method of operation of our
- eyes
- brain
- consciousness
= perception
The result is the so-called “excitation brain”. This leads to novel perceptual processes (split attention) as well as to different needs of perception in relation to works of art:
- All the content of art that is designed to objectify, interpret or improve the world are experienced relatively quickly as “redundancy” in the present age.
- The works of art that work with classical aesthetics are less and less able to connect what is valuable in art with a stimulated “nowness” that is seemingly without beginning or end because it presents its own “floating”.
- In order to be able to generate and convey this nowness, a work of art needs transverse aesthetics, and thus the following:
- quick lines without content (the Calligraphy of Now)
- interruptions of these lines by complex visual intersections (fractalization)
- multilayer, i.e. spontaneously paradoxical combinations and overlays
- In this way, transversal works of art are created whose function is to open the mind of the beholder with their specific “floating in nowness” … for the potentiality of the mind and for the intelligence of becoming.
- Works of art that carry out this function are called “brain machines” according to the motto:
ART FOR SOUL
